Tylor Davidson and Co.

Looking at a caplock with this name on the outer side of the plate.
Would anyone know about this lock as far as production era or quality .

Can you post a picture of both sides of the lock? It sounds like a lock made for a hardware store back in "The Day".

I dont have it in hand yet but he says nothing on backside and hes guessing it was blasted clean( unfortunately)

I'd say that's a modern reproduction lock.
Cleaned up, it should work well though.

 The hammer and hammer screw look like a Siler, and the internals do also. Just added to a new plate.
