New use for a tow worm

Had a new shooter break off a wire brush down at the breech.  I have one of Dan's tow worms so I pushed it down the barrel gave it a few turn and pulled....out came the brush!  SO EASY!

I guess I haven't been shooting BP long enough as I've never found a use for a bore brush in a ML gun.
I've been shooting BP rifles and shotguns since 1972.

I've pulled some pretty funny stuff out of "loaded" muzzleloaders over the years using ball worms or tow worms. Here are some of my favorites:
-Multiple acorns out of a British blunderbuss
-The plastic propeller from one of those rubber band powdered toy planes out of a musket,
-A "gentleman's magazine" from decades ago out of the bore of an antique cannon.

Seth:  Did you keep the magazine or hide it somewhere?

BTW, I am not advocating using a brush, normally.  But think back to tow.  Something of a brush.  Tow does a great job for me but it's just a pain to get the right amount on the worm.

I have pulled fireworks and a six inch nail from an Indian Torador, but it took more than a tow worm to do so....

That's what we used to use as kids. We'd take a large firecracker and drop a marble down after it...a piece of pipe would do, but we did try it with my Great Uncle's Snider that he kept in the tool shed
