Made my first hunters pouch.
« on: August 06, 2024, 02:26:46 AM »
Ok, this is my first post as an author and my first attempt at making a hunters pouch. This is loosely based on the Hawken era pouch. Anyways, just sharing what I’ve done. No help other than a YouTube video. Don’t laugh but used one of my old belts as a strap. It’s a little snug 😝. It’s definitely an original.

Hello,

I appreciate you sharing your work.

It looks like it will do the job!

If you need more room in the strap you could cut the belt above the buckle and sew a piece of leather in between, just measure where you want the pouch to hang.

Keep at it, if your like me you'll want to keep making more.

Regards,

Doug

Pretty darn awesome for a first pouch, IMHO.
My profile picture is my beloved K9 best friend and soulmate, Buster Brown, who passed away in 2018.  I miss you buddy!

For a firsty, I'd say it is a keeper.  Good job.
A thought, if I may.  You can make it look a bit more finished if you were to use a matching thread to the leather.  And make your stitches a little closer together.
