WTB 'Scalp Locks'

For lack of a better (correct) term - 'Scalp Locks'; 3/4" Brass or Copper Cones with red dyed deer hair - a dozen or so at +/- $1.50 ea.
Need a few to restore a few Neck Knife Sheaths

Crazy Crow has brass and copper cones, and deer tails dyed in various colors; you'd have to make your own but they are available.

Well, I was being lazy and looking for a quick fix...

CC and a few others sell finished product and call 'em 'scalp locks', but Brass, Copper or Tin with Red (Horse) Hair are all sold out.
I suppose I could buy cones/white hair and dye them, but I'm under the impression that deer hair and brass or copper are Eastern Woodlands appropriate (which is suited to the project), while Tin and Horse hair are more a Plains/Western thing.

Barring quick availability, I'll probably wait until my Fiddle Bows need re-hairing and recycle that.

I bought some scalp locks off of ebay a few years ago made out of horse tails.

Check out fly fishing suppliers for dyed deer tails. Cabelas used to sell them, but I don't know about now because I haven't been to the nearest store in years.
