Straight, tapered, swamped octagons, same with round barrels, and also octagon to round,   All of them.

Depends on where and when. Post 1840 many halfstock rifles were using manufactured barrels made to standard dimensions.

Yes, some certainly do have swamped barrels, but most are straight or tapered.

I have a post 1840 rifle with a Pannebecker barrel that is swamped. The swamp is very mild not like modern barrels.
