Version of the McGlamery Pouch with an original horn
« on: April 09, 2025, 03:39:20 AM »
Recently I completed my 6th bearded bag. This one is probably the closest to the original NC McGlamery Bag. 9"x9½", I used 2/3oz, and 3/4oz veg tan leather for the bag and calf skin for the lace. The strap is a reproduction of the original by Kerry of Horn and Fiber. The horn is an Appalachian original I found in Maryland and had repaired by Willy Frankfort.

This bag has fascinated me since I first saw it in Knoxville, TN. (I spent my college years in Rutherford and Cleveland County NC) this will go perfectly with my .36 kibler SMR (which is also based on a NC original)

Really nice bag set. I do like the looks of those bearded bags. I'd like to try one myself some day.
