Antique .36 Short Fullstock Percussion Rifle
« on: May 26, 2025, 09:28:53 PM »
Nice, handy .36 rifle. Perfect for youth, ladies or folks who just want a shorter rifle. It seems to be antique, but may be an older contemporary build uding antique lock. Its 28" barrel has a good plus bore with some light grain. Couldn't get a really good photo. Twist is is ca. 1:60ish. Tiger Maple stock has some nice figure. Brass hardware with German Silver patchbox and inlays. Toe had been cracked and poorly glued. I cleaned it up and put a reenforceing brass screw through repair. Not perfect, but looks better and is solid. Double set triggers work fine. LOPis 13 3/8". Weighs 6 lbs. $425 + Shipping.

In your opinion, is this rifle in condition to be used, fired?  I have a friend looking for a shooter?
Thanks

I have no reason to believe not. I do not have correct balls to test fire. I will offer full payment returns on it. In the meantime, I will dig into my stuff for a suitable projectile.

It looks safe enough in the photos.  I told my friend about it.  Sometimes guys say they want stuff but in the end, they don't do it?
Take care
