Need a heavier weight projectile. Use a conical (no plastic sabot please!!) or "bullet".  Here's my .54 Cal shooting a (hollow base) Minie' over 100gr 2F at 100 yards.

I expand the base of the Minie' so they "hold" when loaded in the barrel. The results on whitetail are what you think they are.

I tried the Lee Real's in my 45 using various charges of 2F and 3F.  IIRC the best group was somewhere around 6" at 50 yards.

What really made the difference was switching lube type. And Mineral Oil for lube was the best.

Interesting. I used Lyman's "Black Powder Gold".
Seems to me I also tried my BW/Vaseline with equal success, also with around 70gr. 2F.(might have been 80gr.)
