Very nice, John. Did you do the work? What can you tell us about it?

A respectfully offered observation:
Photos would come out better if shot with a medium to darkish grey background.  As I recall, 18% grey is the photographic standard for a neutral background.  A white background tends to make the subject under exposed.

JTR this is a different rifle. Seems I buy all the broken/ restocks since it’s all I can afford.

I will have to get a gray background, I appreciate the tip!

The rifle was purchased from a KRA member, it was a signed JP Beck with
Original hardware but was very poorly restocked. After the last restocking I did for a gentleman that I documented, I decided to give the restock a similar treatment. I debated wether to do it or not; but since the restock was in such poor condition it seemed to be the only reasonable solution.

I broke the restock out of the safe, broke it down, and made it right.  The barrel channel has been marked with my name and year to prevent any confusion—not that I think there would be. Ultimately I’m happy to have it in my collection, and probably as close as I’ll get to owning one for sometime.

Figured I would share on here. Enjoy.

JD,

I think you did the rifle justice. Otherwise, the original parts may have been eventually separated and lost—very nice work.

I greatly appreciate the kind words. I feel there is a fine line with an aged finish on a restock. So I marked the barrel channel with my name and year. I also posted it here.

It was a project to persevere and celebrate his work. This was the second restock I was privileged to do. I am fortunate to have it in my collection!

This hobby is awful addictive!!!
