Rifle- My Favorite
« on: February 02, 2010, 10:57:51 PM »
Hi. I wanted to share some pictures of my favorite rifle. I built it 20+ years ago from a Chambers York Count kit. It fits me like a well worn glove and its always the one I grab. Do any of you have an old favorite. Please visit my table at the Lewisburg show and introduce yourself.  Nate.

Very nice rifle Nate! My favorite flinter has been adopted by my Mrs., so I have been busy at work putting together a new favorite! It is a 45 cal. Bucks Co. ish rifle. We'll see if I can still call it a Bucks when finished. I have been known to take certain liberties around these "schools" on occasion, just to please myself.

Beautiful rifle, Nate.  Still working on my favorite.

I'm planning on getting to Lewisburg -- see you there.

I love the architecture of that rifle--and nice job in the build and carvings.  It's a beaut!

Nice, Nate - also, being a favourite makes it particularly special. Good job.  I-too  have a favourite.

Let's face it; it takes talent to do that level of work and produce a fine rifle like that one.  This "anybody can do it" is very misguided.  Great eye candy.

The rifle I drag along is a plain 45 steel mounted southern rifle I built in 1989.  She has served me well and although I have tried several others incl a Jaeger, a Schuetzen, a Haines style and one or more others I keep coming back to the old reliable!  Of course, I have a favorite trade gun and last but not least my .47 chunk rifle.  Life is good! :)

I had a 12 ga smoothy made out of cherry wood that I sold.  Should make another one as I miss that one.  I also have an old beater percussion 50 that looks like no specific gun ever built that worked on deer.  My 54 Tennessee is absolutely jinxed or it could be a favorite and my 40 broke through the wrist, although it does have some charm (also why it never got sold).  I keep on building to try to find a favorite.
