Alamance Co. N.C. Horn

 This is my interpretation of fig. 35 in Michael Briggs' Piedmont North Carolina Banded Powder Horns Hunting Bags & Bullet Molds It is listed as being form Alamance Co N.C. which is just east of Winston Salem, if I am not mistaken.
  This horn is about 12 1/2" around the outside curve, the Cherry base is about 2 1/2". The The screw tip is horn and about 2 1/4", threaded 1/2-13. The very tip of the original was missing so I guessed at it's design.
 Any comments, pro or con are welcome.

Tim,
Another great horn.I don't know how to give it a con just pros.
As always great clean lines. I really like the way the tip screws into the horn instead of the otherway around. A friend of mine just got a horn in a trade with a big enough end tap  so I think I'm going to do that after seeing yours.

Way to go Tim.  Great looking horn with very pleasing lines.  I haven't got that book yet (it's on order though) so can't make any comparisons, but I'm sure you did a fine job on that.  Did you lightly stain this one?

 It has AF on it. The more I look at it the more I think I will scrape it back and do it again, looks like there was oil, probably a thumb print on it.
