Tim....I am sure there are many ways to deal with that small tab under the rear extension of the guard, here's another
one.    I have moved some, or made longer ones this way.   I cut the present tab off, file it flat, then make a new, bigger
tab.    Drill a hole thru the guard where you want the tab, about 1/8" or smaller.   Countersink it slightly on the outside.
File a round stub on the new tab to fit thru the hole, leaving enough extension to allow for peening.   Peen it real well,
then file off smooth on the outside.   I suppose you could also solder it, I never have.   It works............Don

New sideplate...... Looks better Thanks!!  Now if i can just get those little scratches out!!

COOL. Looks good. I find its better to get the lock and side plate panels how you want them before you finalize your side plate design and also keeping in mind what you want to engrave on it as well.
 I wouldn't worry about those silly little scratches right now! HA!
