New England ALR Member

I'm working on my first rifle and was hoping to find an ALR member in New England that would be willing to take a look at my work in progress and answer some questions.  I live north of Boston but would be happy to do a fair amount of driving to meet.  PM's welcome.

You will find David Price lives just north of you in New Hampshire. Cookintook or some such. Check out his web site
http://www.davidpriceflintlocks.com/ He is a great man for getting feed back from and a fabulous craftsman. If you cant find any one else closer it would be worth the drive I can tell you.

Getting advice and tips from experienced builders is invaluable, not to mention a confidence boost. It's great to see first hand how others do things and to see real examples in person. I'm in the Hartford area, but I'm still learning myself.  Eric von Aschwege lives right up in your neighborhood, but I believe he is in the Carolinas for spring semester. Some of the experienced builders I have visited for advice include David Price in Contookook, NH and Ed Parry - Black Hart rifles in northern CT (off I-84). I grew up about 20 minutes from David Price, but was more interested in building harpsichords instead of flintlocks. Wasted opportunity. Both of those gentlemen have websites, email and years of experience.  I'm sure there are other fine builders in NE that I don't know about.

Thanks, guys.  I really appreciate the recommendations and offers to help.  As everyone has mentioned David Price, I'll head north.  Looking at his website and the beautiful pieces he has created, I'm not sure it will be a confidence boost -- more like a learning experience!  But that's what I'm looking for....

Bill 52 has contacted me, and I told him that I would be glad to help him in any way that I can, and invited him for a visit to the shop.

I apolagize for not being on the forum lately, I have been working long hours on my Midnight Lace Project, and when I come in at night I usually have dinner and go to bed.  All I have left to do on the project is finish up on the gold inlay and it will be done.  I will  post it on ALR when it is done.  Another two weeks should do it.  I spent so much time hunting this past fall, three months straight, that I am way behind schedule.
