Am considering the installation of a thumb medallion/plate on the wrist area of my current gun build. As having not done that procedure before I am seeking suggestions and advice. Material of intended use is silver. Thanks in advance for you help.

Check your layout VERY carefully. If it is not perfect it will be very obvious, and it is right up on top where you always see it. Also be very careful to not let one side get in deeper than the other, as this will also give an off center look.

How common were the thumb pieces on original rifles? Were they used more on specific types, style, region, or time periods?
