Computer still in dire straits, but will try the short response format. In order here: Tom, Thank you for the your comments and sound advice on using the Forum. The photographer is a professional, Frank Mulligan, and he does product photography in his nice studio. He has done work for Guns and Ammo Magazine in years past.
Alan, thank you for your observations regarding the Howe piece. I have always made the assumption that, as it matches up with Sawyers work in so many ways, it must have been made in the area of Worcester, MA. Howe was a North Brookfield Minute Man and he died in 1776. I hope to be able to put the whole story on here, soon.
Dale, the gun has a bayonet lug as well as a front sight. The ramrod is now wood, but surely was iron during the period of use.
Michael, the breech is standing, not a hooked set up. Rear sight is a groove in the tang.
Thank you everyone, glad that it pleases you.
Dick
