Barrel Cleaning

What products and cleaning procedure would one recommend to clean a long rifle barrel without removing it. I guess removing the barrel and cleaning it with boiling water is easier on half stocked rifles.

Cool tap water, no soap or solvents, has been working for me.

The flushing rig that clamps over the vent, while the other end goes into a bucket of water works very well. You may have to file the clamping tine fown a bit to clear the stock's wood on the off side of the vent.
The lock should be removed, of course, for proper cleaning, otherwise you'll not get it clean.
