I'm looking for information on a "Walker Saddle".
Used in the late 1700's.
This was a Cavalry or Dragoon saddle.
HELP.
I can find no information other than it was in use.

Thanks for the information.

My other saddle books have little to none on  the the Walker.
It looks similar to a Grimsley at first glance. I wounder if any are being made by period saddlers.
Thanks again

Ed,

I'm sorry I'm at the end of my rope on what I can offer you on 18th century saddles. I used to know some folks who made Grimsley's as they were somewhat popular for Civil War reenactors.  However, the source I provided is the only source I know for an 18th century saddle maker.

Gus,
Thanks, Stewart Lilie says he can build one and has firm documentation that the Walker is more of an English type saddle. The little information that I have states it was more of an Hungarian Hussar type saddle. there are only drawings of written descriptions. I'm asking for a few photos to make sure it's what I'm after.  But thanks again for the help.
