I'm building one of Dennis's Gillespie guns. This is the first southern gun I've ever done. My question, what is a good and safe wall thickness to keep between the bottom of the forearm and the ramrod hole?
I'm not using an entry thimble and am trying to keep the height of the gun to a minimum. This leads to a second question. Is the way I'm trying to keep it slim correct for a southern gun as it would be for a PA rifle?
Thanks,
Bill
