gun builders around Branson, MO area?
« on: June 28, 2010, 03:39:13 PM »
My family and I are going to Branson, Mo next week and I was wanting to know if there were any ol boys around that area buildin' smoke poles? Does any one remember when Silver Dollar City had the gun shop and were building sum guns. I guess it became politically incorrect to let small children see how guns used to be made. They still have a "gunsmith shop" but the last time I was there they were selling imported toy guns. Did have a knifesmith with some nice knifes.

take a lil trip south of Branson, to the School of the Ozarks!!

On the campus they have a museum.. Lot of local stuff and country music related pieces on the first floor. The Second floor is all guns!  Lots of Lever types.. 1866-1886 and newer,, but there are some ML's..

The Kennett Hawken is there in a case!  it's a Full Stock,  made after the first brother had passed ...
