Small Flat Banded Priming Horn

 Had a small horn and decided to play around with it, this is what I ended up with. It is flattened out to about  
1¼”X 2 1/4" and is about 5”s tall. Has a Walnut base that is held in by the same 4 steel pins that hold the base band on. The other four have two pins each in them. The tip is antler with a small brass tack stuck in the end.

I like the horn, not so sure about the tip. I'd like to see what it looked like with a bit smaller tip. Just me. I usually put a vent pick in the tip so it fits into the horn when the tip is installed. that antler tip would make a great handle for the pick.

 I thought it looked a little big too, although a lot of banded horns have tips that look like they are oversized.
So I took it down a little, the pic is not the best.

Tim,

I think the plug was/is fine.  IMHO the actual tip of the horn would look better with a lip to mirror the bands.   Of course, the criticism should not overshadow the amount of work it took to produce such a horn.   Fitting all those rectangular bands must have been a pain.

I like it, very nice job with the bands. The tip is fine I think, but it would look cool the way Mark describes as well. Just a reason to make another, so you can compare side by side.
