What the best size flint for a small Siler lock ?

How wide is the frizzen?
In the fire position, how far from the tip of the cock to the frizzen?
That would be the miximum length of your flint.

Muleskinner, The usual size used, and that recommended  by Chambers Locks on their website, is 5/8W X 3/4 long. 

If that size doesn't give you satisfactory performance, a follow-on post with details of what's not working, like poor sparking or frizzen not flipping open, etc,  would likely get some suggestions on how to correct.

5/8 x 3/4 is what most use, as stated above.  If an early small Siler with the older tumbler notches, you may need a shorter flint.

Mine uses 5/8" square flints. Is there a kit to upgrade/change to the 5/8"X3/4"? Mine works great, so I'm not sure I'd change it, but I was wondering.
