We use the small tins as well. Too, I have a couple tins that Track sells. They both work perfectly, however the one I prefer is the striker and flint holder in silver (nickle) or brass that has the hinge about 1" up from one end and is rounded on both ends. It holds enough patches up to .54 cal for a day's shooting- about 70 shots. They will stay wet for up to and past a week as the fit is very good. The top overhangs the front by a smidgen, making it easy to open. The other, almost as good and the one I've used since 1986, is Track's 'snuff' tin, with the hinge across the back end. I soldered 2 little squares of brass on the bottom front sides to make opening easier with cold fingers.

For wads, one of the Speer plastic bullet boxes would do as they'd carry a number of wads. Hidden in the bag, you'd only gag when using it.

Polish tin with a piece of bicycle inner tube glued into the top as a gasket. Poof.....airtight.

A small pill bottle from the pharmacy, maybe with the non-childproof cap, or a 35mm film canister (probably so rare these days one would pass a perioc correct).
