A plain Maxatawney rifle in the style of Peter or Joe Angstadt.  Getz .50 cal. 48 in. swamped barrel. Points well despite the interesting shape.

Hi Bill,
Sweet gun.  The precision and quality of the workmanship is awesome.  Thanks for the photos.

You just proved that a gun doesn't have to be covered with decoration to be a stunner! ;D

Bill,
Very pretty.  No make up or fancy hair do on this gal.  Just good bones, classic looks, and great skin.  I like her!

Beautiful LR ...plain w/ excellent wormanship and lines. I have one question though...you say it points well, but seems it might be a "cheekslapper"? Not a criticism, just curious seeing I don't know  much about "nuttin"...Fred

EXCELLENT WORK, curly maple will help hid small flaws, straight grain won't. It is flawless.  Fill us in on the stain and finish.  Al

Yes, Bill, as usual, you nailed the sub-school with eminent distinction.  But with butt plate and the cool trigger guard, I'd call this one a Shimmelx2.  I see the soul of this region of Berks County beaming through this piece.

The last one made here had the same concept on a late Rupp Lehigh pattern.  Sleek curvilinear  butt and a light Getz .50.  No box, rear pipe or nose cap.  It sold as the finish was drying to a deer hunter from Shoemakersville. Wayne
