Its been along time since I priced a store bought flintlock. I just happen to be looking at a wholesale gun catalog this evening to price out a modern firearm and came across the TC page.....Wooooo  $650.00 for the flintlock Hawkin....oooouch.

Prices for rifles are interesting.  About $500 Traditions flintlock.  Sign of the times.

Happens every time one of the small(er) companies gets gobbled up by the conglomerates...product line gets trimmed, prices go way up...gotta toe the corporate line and make money for the shareholders, dontchaknow.  Just look at what's happened with the prices of Green Mountain barrels (when you can get them) for an example.

Every now and then, you find a bargain, like I did at Dixon's last year.  My new .32 Flinter was only $1,000 - very inexpensive for what I received.
Personally speaking, the only gun I'd even consider buying in a production rifle, is a Lyman GPR.

I Am a big fan of the Lyman GPR as well if you must buy something off the shelf, It was my first Muzzleloader. I have taken a few trades of TC's over the last few years and apparently gave them away from what I see of the current pricing.

There are a whack of them at track for just over $500.00 I think.

Just be prepared to replace the trigger adjusting screw (metric thread).  I talke d to the Lyman rep years ago at a SHOT show and asked why they put in a screw that was too short to properly adjust the trigger.   he said it was required by their lawyers to limit their liability.  Get one about 1/16" or 1 mm longer.  Maybe they've changed it but I doubt it.

I bought my GPR in kit form from Midsouth for $125.......in 1984. Still have it.
