It is my understanding this show is open to KRA and CLA members and family, friends, collectors and students of the Pennsylvania Rifle.

I know for certain no cartridge guns are allowed. Table holders are requested to keep the majority of their table display Kentucky's and related items [contemporary and period].

I believe there is a nominal admission charge for non table holders.

I attended the show late Friday afternoon .  Not a big crowd then but plenty of interesting rifles to look at.
The Kentucky Rifle Foundation display was excellent. It was my first time to see many of the fine originals in the display.  I was amazed how nice and crisp the carving still looks on the Martin Shell rifle.

My compliments to Henry Bishop for putting this display together.   It showed guns from basically the area from Lebanon
to Harrisburg, this area takes in a lot of super gun builders.   Since I am now working on a Beck rifle, I spent a lot of time
studying the super Beck in the display.  It was a rather fine, delicate gun, with an ocatagon to round barrel, breech under
an inch, unlike what we normally think of a Beck rifle as we look at pictures of them.  When we study picture of Beck rifles
I always get the feeling that they are a rather robust, big gun, bold carving, etc.....not so.   It was so good to be able to
study one close up.....now, if I could only duplicate some of that carving???............Don

That is a real sweet gun! Don, is there a barrel on the market that would work in a gun this petite??

Tim.......I don't know of any standard octagon to round barrel being done as a standard thing but I know John has made
some like this.   Also, that old "standard light" pattern of Paris......  .930  -  .750  -  .830... would work great in a Beck rifle, as well as a number of those golden age guns.........Don

When I learned about all the originals that would be displayed, I decided to drive down from Boston on Friday just to attend the show.  I was certainly not disappointed!

As the show was dedicated to longrifles, the rifles, pistols & other items on the tables (antique & contemporary) were outstanding to view and discuss with their owners.  The Kentucky Rifle Foundation display was over the top.  I must have gone back to that display over a dozen times, each time noticing something different and learning something new.  I even learned from you, Don, watching and listening to you and Mark studying the Beck.

My sincere thanks to all those who helped pull this "1st Annual" show together.  Can't wait until next year!

Bill,
I really enjoyed studying the Beck with you guys. I didn't realize that you had
driven from Boston. My hat's off to you ! I hope you had a good time.
I thought it was a very good show all around. Good friends and great guns, doesn't get much better than that !
