Allen Martin Classic for sale @ TOW
« on: September 11, 2010, 05:11:42 PM »
Here's a real opportunity for someone.

One of Allen's rifles, and absolutely beautiful rifle that won multiple awards @ Dixon's, and I believe was on the cover of Muzzleblasts a few years ago is on sale @ Track of the Wolf.

This is an absolute STEAL at this price.

It even includes a prize winning shooting bag and horn.

If Mr Martin wasn't already building one for me..... I'd snatch this one up in a hurry.

Check it out.
In His grip,

Dane

I need someone to snatch it up for me, since it's too late to sell my first-born. :-\

Beeeee-autiful work from Mr. Martin, as always. Love those Rupps, and the caliber, barrel length, EVERYTHING is just right!

How do we "check it out"?

There's nothing here to see.

There it is with no wait time.  Down the road more than one person will likely regret not snapping this one up.

Good for you Bill Knapp!!  Allens' longrifles are a pleasure use, a joy to hold or you can just sit back and admire it.  On top of everything, you get the bag and horn and all the provenance to go with the awards.  You're going to need to get a table at the next CLA show/meeting so those of us who don't own it, can come by and enjoy it also.  Good luck with your new acquisition!  ;D ;D ;D

Congrats, I saw that the other evening and it looks great.  Was also a Casteel on there!  Got me wondering if times are tight and folks are really needing cash that bad, or maybe an estate sale type thing?

"It was a steal a $1200."

And that's the truth.......... you lie and I will swear to it. ::)    ;)       Seems that inormation is private to the buyer and seller.  Which is not to say the buyer couldn't share the info if he wanted......probably best not to ask though.  ;D

I wish it was only $1200, at that price I could have bought five of them.  There's still an Eric Kettenburg on TOTW at a very good price.  Allen just let me an email to call him about the history on it.  That's one of the things I love about this site.  Guess I'll have to crack open a Yeung Ling, get comfortable and give him a call.  Now I just got to sell a couple of my side by sides, and maybe a 1911 or two.

Someone must have been pretty hard up to let the rifle, pouch and horn go for 1200 bucks.

You mean somebody believed $1200? Not even in these times!

What kind of flinter is a 1911? That the caliber or the barrel length?

I figure I got a great deal, since it's vintage, made in the last century of the first millennium.  Boy does that make Allen seem old. ;D  Got the shipping info this morning.  Track's shipping Fed Ex now. Boy does chicken man like to stir the pot.  My first born's a bit upset about being sold, but a man has to set his priorities. :o ::)

The Fed Ex Fairy delivered the rifle this morning.  The pictures didn't do it justice.  The balance with that long barrel is unbelievable for the length.  Guess I'll just ogle it today, since it's raining out.  It's definitely one of those rifles best described "Wow" Now I gotta figure out a load.
