On the other hand if the barrel was signed "Hawken" we'd think it was wonderful to behold.  I enjoy the commoner rifles as well as the finest ones.  Thanks for posting, Hurricane.

These are the same pictures posted on Sept 24th.
MS Smith made a guess as to the identification of this gun. He guessed Pierre Charpie of Ohio.  Apparently it must be a Charpie rifle.

The Museum remains as the single largest repository of pictures of ID"d  and other longrifles, enhanced by "your " discussions. Though each "board" will remain in the archives of this website, adding and collecting "presented" guns to those gun offered first and only to the Museum, allows the "visitor/student" and extraordinary and truly unique opportunity ( a living book matched nowhere else in print) and ease of access, available to all at any time , FREE.
