The most amazing thing is evolving, as noted in the recent thread, " Not asking for mush, just blood" ( Captjoel),

http://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=12546.0

we have attracted or identified several family members of  Golden era gunsmiths who are collaborating with the Museum Committee to enhance this site. The first major exhibit was the Schreckengost Collection. Now we have a major enhancement to The Peter Neihart (Newhart) exhibit researched and presented by Bob Smalser , a relative. We expect more information as he does further research, collaborates with others and updates will follow. Please add any pertinent information.

Here is the enhanced Peter Neihart exhibit.

Good to see some attention paid here.  However, be very careful with those old NH County/Lehigh County "History" texts; much of that information was obtained via oral tradition and it does not always match up with the extant records which are now archived down in Philadelphia.  Neihart is a tough guy to pin down, but most of those guys were likewise prior to the War.
Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords, is no basis for a system of government!
