A Banded Horn W/Pewter & Antler Tip
« on: November 08, 2010, 07:37:16 PM »

This one is about 11 ½” around the outside curve. The Walnut base is about 2 ½”, it is hollowed out and held in by four steel pins, they also hold the lower band on. The collar id pewter and the tip is antler, it is pinned to the collar with three steel pins and then the collar is pinned to the horn with three more.
Each of the three upper bands have two steel pins in them to hold them in place. Horn were colored with left over dyes , bands have AF on them.

Now that is a nice looking horn Tim and great color combinations and all of it flows well together.

That has got to be my favorite banded horn that you have posted. I really like the way the colors come together and all the other parts.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. It is funny how a horn can just get you, I have heard people say before that they picked a horn because it spoke to them or was calling them. It takes just the right person but sooner or later, most times later, all of them make the call :)
