My daughters banded horn

This was one of my early attempts at a banded horn. It didn't have as much curve as I like so it seemed like a disposable horn. It has an applied antler band at the tip for the strap. I used a powdered gun stock dye that I was given. It is water based and you can mix some really neat shades, but it isn't very colorfast. You can see that it affected the horn differently in different areas. The horn is very transparent.
My daughter decided that it was her's because of the color. Red. My daughter usually has bright red hair. I put it up as a prize at a club shoot a couple of years ago. I won the shoot and decided that if I wanted Corey to talk to me I probably shouldn't give it away. I took it back off the blanket.

Steve,
It may not have much curve but it is well proportioned and looks good. I like the antler strap ring.

Heck I like it. The important thing is your daughter likes it and that makes it priceless.
Glad to hear you're lucky enough to have a daughter that shoots with you.

Knowing Steve it's probably superglue.
Sorry Steve, I couldn't resist. Old habits are hard to break. Actually, I have seen that horn in person and it has a really nice feel to it.

They're just heated and pressed on at this time.(and maybe a little super glue) I pin all my bands anymore. Better safe than really p--sed off.
