This is an 1840-50's era belt pouch with beadwork inspired by an original Santee Sioux bag. Decoration includes: beadwork done in size 10/0 and 8/0 beads, beaded fringe with tin cone tinklers - two with horsehair tufts and the center one with buffalo hair tuft, a large brass button and 4 brass harness spots complete the deco. The bag is made from braintanned leather and the front is lined with a piece of red stroud trade cloth and the back and flap with dark blue plaid broadcloth. The beaded belt hanger has a wooden toggle latch for easy on and off ones belt.
Included in this package are a custom handforged flint striker and a chunk of flint (Rich Pierce's Mo flint) with it's own small braintan pouch (the small flint pouch is not shown). The bag is approximately 5 " x 5" outside dimension and like the original was made to be used as a striker pouch, it is big enough to carry a small wallet and ones keys or whatever sundries, period or not, that you choose.
Everything was then aged to give it that used but not abused look.......
