I can't tell you how close I came to pulling the trigger on those axes, Bart. It's a good thing they already sold! Maybe it's in my head, but if the blades had been more like 3 1/2" for just a bit more weight on the same length handles, it would have been a done deal.
I know it would throw the "scale" off, but I couldn't shake the question of rebound in using axes so light, even for the small jobs I contemplated. It may be an unfounded concern, but it's based on using too-light modern hatchets.
In any case, keep us posted when you turn out more, whether the same size or very slightly bigger! It's great work and a very good value.
