Ornate Shreckengost Half Stock
« on: January 05, 2011, 11:24:16 PM »
Dug up yet another SGost rifle to share.   Most ornate half stock I've seen.  Also once owned by Lloyd Norris, gunsmith of Western PA.
Note the engraving on 3 sides of the barrel at sight and breech.

Very nice. Would love to see a good pic of the lock straight on.

I didn't take one of the lock only, but here is the lock side.  Again I apologize
for the quality.  These didn't come out well.

Suzkat,
Do you have any dimensions to share ??? ???  The barrel appears to be rather heavy @ the patent breech and tapers quickly...caliber...length ???
Thanks for sharing ;D  Beautiful, graceful, very well executed ;D

Unfortunately, I did not take dimensions however the barrel is about
37 inches long and about 1 1/2 inch at muzzle and at breech and swamped
dramatically in the center.  Caliber about 32.  I need to get one of those
tools to measure the caliber.
