I am soon finished!!!!!!!!!!!

 ;D I'm soon finished with the pair of silver kentucky pistols!!! I've inlaid the silver nameplates and gold weddingbands and stars (24k). The barrels are rust blued with iron clorid and ethanol. All that left to do is to make the rearsites,the case and the accouterments. ;D

The stars really came out well!! course the rest is alright tooo.............  Your work is so nice!!   Glad you finally got a star punch that would work for you!!

Can you elaborate on rust bluing with iron chloride and ethanol?  I have never heard of that, and I can see some advantages right away to using an ethanol based solution.  Please tell us how it works and more about the recipe too.
