I just saw David's interpretation of the Wm. Antes rifle.  It's worth a good look.

My favorite hunting rifle is a 54 Berks county built by Dave.   He was very fussy with the lock and trigger set-up.   He did
a lot of polishing on the lock internals, case hardened the lock plate to make it work smooth, and he told me that the trigger in my gun was the third one, he had troubles to get it just right.   An excellent gunbuilder, we all miss him........Don

That is a great looking rifle.  Lots of things to consider when looking at it.  It's a great example of working in the style of a builder w/o perfectly duplicating a particular rifle.  I wonder how he got that slightly crackled finish.
