I'm a Southern rifle guy but it looks good to me.  That's a neat idea on the grease hole.  Is that your idea or something you have seen?
Cheers,
Ken

I saw the grease hole on another rifle. One of Larry Williams guns my dad's has it.

Looks good. It is hard to tell sometimes from digital pics, but your carving looks like it has some jiggles in the arcs. Those should be smooth arcs. Also, I've got a question, is the nosecap poured, or did you actually inlet that somehow?  Thanks for the pics!

I like it.  To me your carving looks era, like a real 18th century rifle.

At first glance I did not like the engraving behind the tang bolt.  Simply turning my head to the side and looking at as if I was holding it, it looks much much better.  It works.

The chip in the stock caused by the trigger guard pin adds to the looks and takes nothing away.  Perfectly imperfect.

HaHa yeah the chip is okay but a pisser all the same. I had finished the rifle and was doing the final assembly when that happened

that vent pick pin clasp is pretty neat the way it backs up and clips into the ring  . Did you machine out that RR tip too?

See if you can find some burn in shellac to hide that chip. It's what the old furniture makers would have done.

The ramrod tip and cleaning jag where turned on a redneck lathe(drill in a vise). I was amazed at just how well it worked really
