Paneled Horn
« on: March 08, 2011, 08:51:10 PM »
Eight panels on the body, about 11” around the outside curve. Pine base about 2 1/4" held in with eight diamond/square head nails, large nail in base for strap.

Every horn has potential- think you maximized this one's potential.  I often have to look at a horn for a while to figure out what to do with it.  This one was thick enough for a real nice panel job.

Nice horn Tim. I think I like the color as much as the shape.

Thanks guys. The color was done with AF a lot of heat and a liberal coating of Brown shoe polish, while hot, buffed with a brush.

Im with the others who like both the shape and color.  Seems a rich deep color adds so much to the appeal.
