A great Mike Brooks rifle on the blog
« on: March 10, 2011, 07:08:10 PM »
Hi Folks,
Woo hoo Mikey!!!  A really nice gun that is believable, well executed, and beautiful.  Mike really knows how to impart a personality to a gun.

I thought that was a nice looking gun as well.  I have an original 1730-1740 Liege made gun that has a number of similarities to this creation.  Neat stuff.

Very cool. Love the sideplate area. Very creative in the cheekpiece area. Somebody that knows his business.

Thanks guys. I wish I had better pictures of it. Started using my wife's camera and new photo editing program and don't have a handle on the sizing yet.
Fun gun to build...glad somebody else gets to shoot it! ;D

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

I'm curious, Mike.  What does that gun weigh?
