Eastern Buffalo Powder Horn
« on: March 24, 2011, 12:27:56 AM »
Recently completed eastern buffalo powder horn.  This horn measures 16-1/2", around the outside curve, including the horn spout and the chip carved walnut butt plug, and is 3" in diameter at the butt.

I gotta ask.... are there any more Eastern Buffalo? I though they were hunted to extinction in the Colonial period. On this subject, a friend of mine has several horns he believes are Eastern buffalo horns, Connecticut area, ca 1700 to 1750.

I like it Randy. That's a horn of great contrasts. Many interesting ideas here.
