I have used one on my Bedford 45 cal. rifle that I shoot at monthly matches at our club.  I have been using that lock for nearly ten years.  In addition I have used the same rifle to take at five doe in our early muzzleloader season(doe only).  I have never had a problem with the lock.  The lock does have an exceptionally short throw, so it is also a very fast lock.  I have no reservations recommending it.

I've purchased one but I haven't used it yet.
Very nice style Bedford lock and the workmanship is outstanding!
