Good ol' Pennsylvania whitetail. the measure throws 70 grains of 3F. home-made copper suspension ring. Dyed with sunshine yellow with a little bit of dk brown and a pinch or two of orange.

Going to be part of a set. the brush and pick are tonights projects

a harlequin pattern...nasty little thing to do on antler

sculpted the front for a pour spout.

May I ask you,... what are you using for metal for the vent pick? Also, are you using copper for the rings attaching the measure, pick and brush? Very nice!

...depends on what size touch hole you need to use it in. this one was made for my Fowler and was 1/8 inch round stock heated and drawn out with a hammer and anvil. when I achieved the point/taper i was looking for I heated the entire length and twisted it then oil quenched. The rings are copper contractors wire hammered square and then wrapped around a steel rod then cut. I then put the rings in the ends and soldered them together with lead free solder and a pencil torch.

I use a grizzly G0624 10" lathe and run on the slowest setting which is approx 480 rpm. it is a little fast and gives some chatter if your tools are no "scary sharp". optimally 100 to 200 rpm would be nice.
