missouri pistol??

I found a pattern for a missouri pistol. when I do a search on the net for it I can't find anything about this style of pistol. does anyone have some information about the missouri pistol?

This is a "Missouri" Sketter pistol. Real Buckhorn sight. Match "Coonie" trigger, real "Hedge" grips

Steve Bookout told me that it is a lesser known pistol that no one makes any parts for.

From where did you get the pattern?

Maybe if we knew that someone could come up with more information for you. I don't know that there is a specific "Missouri" pistol type.

Without digging them out I don't know offhand if either describes any pistols.

St. Louis is in Missouri.  A couple of famous fella's were buildin' rifles there and a few pistols too.  Hawken was the name if I recall correctly.  Could that be what yer after?  J.D.K.

I got this from the back of steve Bookout's rifle shop. he had copied it from an original.

Both J&S Hawken and Pillip Creamer made half-stock percussion pistols in Missouri. Creamer also made flint pistols. One pictured in Whisker's book is more like a "3/4 stock" flintlock.

I believe there are other published Creamer pistols, don't remember where offhand. Hawkens are what everyone talks about. Creamer worked earlier and made a finer gun, IMHO.
