Nelder Grove, CA primitive scout/encampment
« on: March 18, 2011, 02:26:20 AM »
May 12th thru the 15th, the year is 1780
Our 9th Year!
Nelder Grove, California-- just south of the Yosemite Natl Park boundary. (the same spot as last year)
Anyone that is interested, email me and I can provide you with directions and details.

A 1780s Frontier Kentucky encampment. Please keep all your modern "needs" invisible. We always have a great time at this small but special event. There is always opportunity to shoot at marks--maybe a blanket shoot. Plenty of beautiful country to scout, including some of the biggest and oldest trees in the world.  No itinerary or "cruise director," just a bunch of like-minded souls enjoying some time in the woods. This event is whatever the participants make it--lets make this one the best one yet!

All are welcome--We usually have a few deer visits to camp and bear tracks down at the creek. Weather can go either way--we have had hot temps and bone-chillin snowfall, so be prepared.

Bring your own water and victuals, a modest blanket prize if you feel like it, and whatever 18th C gear you need to camp primitive in the woods. Its a short easy hike to camp. We have had a half dozen to over 25 attend over the years....
