Took a Gobbler this morning. PHOTOS ADDED>>>
« on: April 29, 2011, 05:12:31 AM »
He gobbled at least 150 times during our conversation with one another.   As things worked out, I took him at nine yards with my cylinder bored 12 gauge.   Talk about FUN!  Why everybody doesn't use a muzzleloader when chasing turkeys, I will never know.

He weighed 22 pounds and 3 ounces and sported a 10 3/4" and 4" beards, and 1 1/16" spurs.

A better day I could not imagine.

Good luck to any of us here that are after "Tommy-Three-Toes"!!!

Best regards, Skychief.

Congratulations.  If you have any photos, please post them.  Any gobbler is a nice take, but one with a muzzleloader is something special.  And to answer your question, most hunters are too lazy, not interested in experiencing anything special, not willing to learn anything new, and everything is about the kill and nothing else.  They use their 12 ga. 5" Magnums  ::) and can talk about the shot, but have no experience to back it up.  Just my thoughts...  Pardon the rant  :P

I have pictures I can email to anybody willing to post them here.   My computer skills are sad enough that I can't get them posted.   Any takers?
