19th century Ohio screw-tip horn

Hey all!
Picked up a screw tip horn doing some antiquing in south central Ohio.  The national road is the basic route that follows old U.S. 40 (now approximately I-70) from PA to Saint Louis.  This was the first major pathway to the west.  Many people who moved west followed this path.  It has some characteristics of a Franklin and Lancaster horns.  The butt section is translucent and you can see some powder residue around the plug.  Found another horn--didn't buy that one--but, on turning it over to inspect it, a significant amount of powder flowed freely onto the antique shop floor!  I told the shop owner that it would be a bad idea to smoke near the cabinet!  Would like to know if anyone has any other insight.  Thanks!

1) Carl, is the screw tip internally or externally threaded?

2) Do I see a horn stopper? Are the sides of the stopper tapered or straight?

The horn is an external screw tip and there isn't a stopper.  What you see is the whole tip.  Thanks!
