Looking for advice on a possibles bag
« on: May 25, 2011, 05:26:02 AM »
Fairly new to all this and would love to have a possibles/hunting bag that is a reproduction of one from the early 18th century. Any ideas and I don't have alot of money to spend an arm and a leg on one. Thanks in advance.

James,

In all seriousness, I'm not grasping the difference.  But it has been a long day.  Please enlighten me.  Thanks.

Well it would make a big difference in how to reply.

1.  If wanting an EARLY 18th c. pouch, that would at the very least be pre 1750 and would require going across the pond for help. I generally divide the century in thirds or fourths for discourse on many subjects.

2.  Some consider ANY 18th century pouch as early as there are so few existing examples.

Just the warped way my mind works but now and then you do get someone into the earlier periods like I am.

Tim is a moderator here and I am sure he can scratch up an address for you ;D

If you are interested in making a hunting pouch you will love his book. Well worth the money.

Zech, they are available from Muzzleloader Magazine over at their on-line store, or from Track of the Wolf in the book section...both are great outfits and would love to help you out with a copy...
