Brandywine Long RiflesInvites you to participate in our annual
Almost Flag Day
Pistol Shoot
To be held on Saturday the eleventh day of June
at the Southern Chester County Sportsman’s Club starting at 10 AM
Leave your long gun on the wall and grab up your six-shooter or pirate pistol and join in the frustration.

Black powder, round ball, flint or percussion

Bonuses and Penalties assigned for each match
Plus 2 for single shot flint lock
Plus 1 for single shot percussion
Raw score for revolvers
Minus 2 for in-lines

Standard and novelty targets will be shot somewhere between 20 & 50 yds.
Matches will be handicapped 4, 3, 2
Bring your own lunch.
Your friendly shootmasters will work diligently to see that you are challenged and frustrated.

Ten shooters showed up for the second Saturday monthly shoot.  This month's shoot was all pistol.  The longrifles stayed at home.  The sky was overcast and the temperature was very comfortable.  Three of us - Mike Amico, Jim Shomper, and me, shot flintlock pistols.  There were two single shot percussion shooters and five revolver shooters.

Here are some photos.  What I do not post tonight will be posted over the next 2-3 days.  TinyPic is being difficult, so I am not able to upload as many photos as I want to.


In spite of Ted's injury, he shot well enough to claim several first place prizes.


What does Charlie, the shootmaster, have to do?  Everything except shoot...

Most of the targets were rifle targets.  All shooting was at 25 yards.

Here are the last few photos. 

This was a good day of shooting.  I shot my Pedersoli .50 cal. flintlock with a .501 RB, 35 gr. GOEX 3F, and a .018" pillow ticking patch lubed with Lehigh Valley Lube.  The combination worked out very well.  Once I made a slight sight adjustment, the gun shot true.

Mike Amico shot two flintlocks, one was a target pistol and the other was a Spanish brand Kentucky style pistol.  Jim Shomper shot his Dave Motto .45 cal.  We took four of the eight first-place prizes.


Ted claims a first place prize, a package of london broil.
