CVA screw size
« on: June 08, 2011, 11:27:54 PM »
My son in-law lost the hammer for his CVA Hawken and asled if I could find him a replacement.    I found one,  but now I need ro find a tumbler screw; which is the reason the hammer fell off in the first place.

Does anyone have any experience with these locks, and can you tell me what size the threads are?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Times have sure changed. Gun control used to mean keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe direction

It's metric, I would pull the lock, and take it to your local hardware, or commercial nut, and bolt supply and fit up the right size screw for it.  Easiest way I know of fitting it proper.  Taking the whole rifle into the store might cause more excitement that you would care to deal with, if you live in a big city. ;D
