Pouch with a Germanic Flair
« on: June 10, 2011, 09:00:39 PM »
This is a pouch I just finished today.
It's basic shape is derived from a mid-18th century German image by Ridinger (Thanks Chris Immel).

Interesting shape.  I really like the shell carving and the layered flap as well as the shell stamping on the body of the bag.  Workmanship looks top notch.

Dang.  I've seen a lot of nice rifles that were not that well decorated.

Awesome pouch, the workmanship is really good. I love the design and the way you executed it is super.   You thanked Chris Immel in your posting,I have a smooth rifle that he built Early Germanic style 54 cal. that is really a sweet piece.  Dennis

So German/Swiss who came to SC in 1730 and settled in Savannahton, SC (now Beech Island) might have brought this along with their guns or made it at Ft Moore or Toblers Fort???

I like the design and the workmanship is superb!! James you certainly do nice work!!
