Has anyone heard of a gunbuilder from the '70's/'80's period by the name of Lawrence Mrock?  Know anything about his work?
Thanks!

There are a couple of pictures on Ebay right now - one that it says is him with two rifles and another showing the butt of one of his rifles. Ask for "mrock's rifles" and they will both come up.

For what that's worth.

He was outstanding in a time when few makers were.  His work was featured in an article by John Bivins on an early Lyman book on muzzleloading.

I think Larry lives in New Hampshire now... I saw him at Baltimore back in March.

Larry Myrock was at the first Dixon's gunmakers Fair in 1983. I remember talking to him. He was a top of the pile maker. God knows what he could be doing today.  He told me he spent 40 hrs, not including engraving, to finish a lock on a New England rifle. He could'nt get the money for his work and that is why he shortly thereafter got out of it. I know he does high qualiy restorations.

P.S. The same reason Jack Hough got out of it. You can make vastly more doing restorations or modern centerfire work.
